    Hi there
    looking for some advice.

I use roboform at home on my desktop for some sensitive sites eg bank accounts etc. No one else has access to my pc without my permission. Is it necessary to set a master password - ie can someone remotely (rather than from my desktop) access the passcards realistically? It would just save time not to have to log in each time but if this is a security issue even for a single user at home then I will keep a password.

    many thanks

    Hi,
I use Roboform at home too and I have a maste password set up. Thing is that the roboform passcards (and accounts) are actually saved on your computer as files. If you go to C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\My Documents\My RoboForm Data\Default Profile\ you'll see in there all your saved passcards, forms, accounts (as rfp, rft and rfb files). If your computer would be accessed remotely and someone would transfer your roboform files, if they're unprotected they can be opened. Plus, you have to consider other threats like viruses/trojans, many of them are smart enough to know where to "sniff" for sensitive data.

So my recommendation would be to set a master password (which is not that annoying since you have to enter only when you open a new session in your browser).

I have the fingerprint reader to log in and it works fast and nobody can get in but me.

    Interested in this discussion.

Still dont quite understand how the master password works.

I have my Roboform master password protected, but no password prompt when I edit the passcard.

Why is that and how secure is that?
