I really like it, but one thing seriously needs improving.</p> <p>Page 7 of the manual describes Multi-Step Logins. It talks about Bank of America. I have National City bank. I'll bet it applies to quite a few others, too. My bank has an opening screen which requires entry of the user name. You hit enter, then a following screen opens which requires entry of the password.</p> <p>The process as described is not very clear, and cumbersome to set up. I could not even do a system restore. I had to restore my computer from scratch. I am still in the process of putting back all my programs and files, this is very time consuming.<br /> Furthermore, after I backed up my files, I could not retrieve them using another computer. It kept telling me that I had to register and install MOZY Backup, it just would not retrieve my previous registration.<br /> I am still not able to retrieve my files. Luckily, I kept local backups on some DVD's. MOZY may be free, but there is always a catch. I needed to have my RoboForm data automatically synchronized between my desktop computer and the laptop, so I looked around to see if there is an alternative. And boy there are many free synchronization programs. However I sticked with <a href="http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=c26efa36-98e0-4ee9-a7c5-98d0592d8c52&#38;displaylang=en">Microsoft's Synctoy 2.0</a>. Synctoy lets you not only synchronize the roboform data, but also to back it up (if you don't want to use Roboform's internal backup engine).</p> <p>A minus for Synctoy is the fact that you cannot schedule automatically the synchronization process to take place, but for that you can define a scheduler using Windows' Task scheduler.</p> <p>So here's what I did to synchronize Roboform data between two folders:</p> <ul> <li>I opened Synctoy and clicked on <strong>Create New Folder Pair </strong>button to start defining the sync process for roboform.</li> <li>A wizard pops-up with an option to choose the <strong>Left Folder </strong>(source) and <strong>Right Folder </strong>(destination). In the Left Folder I added the My RoboForm Data folder from the local computer, in the Right Folder I added the My RoboForm Data folder from the laptop connected through the same network (you can map the laptop drive)</li> <li>In the second step you have to select what you want to do, meaning if you want to <strong>Synchronize</strong>, <strong>Echo </strong> or <strong>Contribute</strong>. Basically synchronization makes sure the exact same files are in both folders, the Echo just copies over what's new/modified to the destination (if you delete something from the source it will be deleted on the destination), and Contribute backs up from the source but without deleting anything in the destination</li> <li>Next you assign a name for this synchronization task and you'll see it defined. Select <strong>Browse </strong>and locate the <strong>SyncToyCmd.exe </strong>from the installation folder.</li> <li>The scheduler wizard will next prompt you to enter how often you want to run the scheduled task. </li> <li>The next page asks when to start the task. Select a start time. </li> <li>The next page asks for the user name and password to run the program under. Enter your Windows login username and password. Note that if you don't have a password for your login user, you'll need to define one since you cannot add schedules with a blank password.</li> <li>The final page contains an option to open advanced properties for the schedule.</li> <li>Modify the <strong>Run </strong>textbox to include the <strong>–R</strong> command line option. <strong>–R</strong> all by itself will run all synchronization processes that you defined in Synctoy, so if you just want to run a single synchronization task automatically you'll have to add <strong>–R “roboform”</strong> to the end of the command line where roboform in this case is the name you gave to the synchronization process.
